An editorial running photography series captured in the Christchurch Port Hills, documenting a runner moving through natural terrain as part of a healthy, active lifestyle.
In 2016, Clare was studying nutrition with the goal of helping individuals better understand how food and movement can support long-term wellbeing. Running in the local hills formed an important part of her personal approach to health, balance, and routine. This editorial series was photographed for Good People Run on a warm autumn evening in the Port Hills.
The shoot focused on natural movement, pace, and the relationship between runner and environment, rather than posed or performance-driven imagery.
At the time of the shoot, sections of forest were still visibly affected by recent wildfires, creating an atmospheric and slightly eerie backdrop. The contrast between regeneration, landscape, and physical effort adds depth to the images, grounding the series in a specific place and moment.
The resulting photographs are suited to editorial use, athlete profiles, and storytelling contexts where environment and authenticity are as important as athletic performance.
