An editorial portrait photography series featuring Jimi Hunt, created for magazine publication, agency use, and personal promotion.
This portrait series dates from 2014 and was created after first meeting Jimi Hunt while working as the official photographer for TEDx, where he presented his Live More Awesome project — a talk addressing mental health and depression. Following that event, Jimi commissioned a set of editorial portraits for a Remix Magazine article, alongside a professional headshot for agency representation.
The brief also allowed space for experimentation and relaxed portrait-making beyond a single, formal outcome.
Although the lighting appears soft and natural, the portraits were created using controlled strobe lighting, shaped to feel understated and unobtrusive. This approach allowed for consistency, clarity, and a calm visual tone while retaining an editorial sensibility focused on character and presence.
The resulting images were used across editorial publication, agency materials, and personal promotion.
