Corporate event photography at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre for Aotea’s 50th anniversary, documenting an evening of speeches, live performance, hospitality and celebration.
Christchurch-based Aotea Group marked its 50th anniversary with a major celebration at Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre.
Bringing together people from across the organisation, the event celebrated five decades of Aotea’s history and its growth into a nationwide network of locally owned trade businesses.
The evening moved through formal speeches, live music and hospitality into a relaxed celebration, with guests reconnecting and spending time together. Projection, architectural lighting and bold graphic elements transformed the spaces throughout Te Pae and became an important part of the visual story.
My approach was to combine wider photographs showing the scale and design of the event with natural, observational coverage of the people attending, creating a varied record of the anniversary without interrupting the evening.
