We live in an image rich, fast paced world and Sky’s photography and skills help brands, people and businesses stand out amongst it. More than 5000 clients across New Zealand have trusted Sky since 2010 because his work is refined, distinct, and always hits budget and brief. He is a real people person who understands how to see the very best in everyone and every situation. A positive kiwi ‘can do’ attitude is part of his success.
A storyteller at heart, Sky can capture and express a genuine connection of people and places to their audiences. From trades people to CEO’s and office teams to kick ass events, he always gets the shot. With a cool and calm approach, Sky is just as happy working in a fast paced corporate environment to a muddy farm in the middle of nowhere. Sky also has a central city headshot / portrait studio if you don’t fancy adventures outside.
Prior to photography Sky has worked across all sorts of professions from science, graphic design, and IT to helping the homeless and adults with disabilities. He’s lived and worked in the UK, Australia and New Zealand. This diversity of experience enables him to understand multiple genres of photography and adapt to clients individual needs.
Sky has established and directed multiple successful entrepreneurial businesses since 2000 to include a graphic design studio, photography tuition and workshops, and a running apparel and culture brand known as Good People Run. These days Sky is more focussed on a slower more purposeful life with peace and quiet over the hustle.
Away from the camera Sky is often found relaxing with his dog Kodi outdoors amongst the tress, sweating it out in a sauna, daily walking, or clambering up mountains in the Southern Alps. Sky appreciates fine art photobooks and has an extensive personal arts practice that keeps him creatively inspired.
A true 90’s kid at heart Sky still enjoys his music and has a few vintage hifi setups with an ever increasing collection of records and CD’s that ‘are a better experience’ than streaming.
Sky helps other photographers and is currently a mentor for members of the New Zealand Institute of Professional Photography (NZIPP) and also tutors privately.
